On my first internship
June 25, 1998
I got an internship at Ingenius today. I start Monday doing web development stuff three days a week. Err... coding and testing and debugging web applications and learning about asp and java beans and other cutting edge web technology.
Of course I'm not actually getting paid for this... but that's not the point.
"But Adam, aren't you a firm believer that it is all about the benjamins? Aren't you just a stupid hypocrite?"
Well, yeah, but so what? I would rather be doing something that interests me, and be somewhere I'm learning than be utterly miserable. Well that and I don't really need the money right now anyway. There is a possibility I might get monetary compensation later if I actually become useful, but it's not something I'm depending on.
Still, it's an exciting firm, doing cool stuff and it should be a good experience for me. Except the part about commuting. That sucks.
