Pundits are quick to point out that advanced phones, tablets, and the rest of the next generation of computing devices increasingly seem to point to a post-Microsoft OS world. HP’s renewed focus on Palm’s WebOS is yet another indication of that.
The absolutely bizarre thing about that is while the devices that surround us are now filled with non-Microsoft operating systems and Unix derivatives, they are actually less Free than Windows.
(Say what you will of Windows, at least Microsoft didn’t get a veto on what software you could distribute for it.)
I could not have imagined this 10 years ago.
