After a year and a half in California, all my boxes are finally unpacked.
The books now live in the industrial charcoal HON bookcases. It’s supposed to go decently with the stainless steel and glass desks coming soon.
As I finally buy furniture for my apartment and toss away some of the awful, ugly things from my graduate school life, I realize the appeal of it all — with a fair amount of disposable income and decent (but not ridiculously extravagant tastes) it’s very easy to have a sense of autonomy and control that leads to tangible, aesthetically pleasing outcomes.
This is pretty obvious.
But maybe I understand Animal Crossing a bit more now.
